I can confirm today that BASG & AT have through Fish Legal served a high court submission for a Judicial Review against the Environment Agency and Natural England with regard to the Environment Agency’s (EA’s) decision to grant a Flood Risk Activity Permit (FRAP) on 23 July 2020 for fish barriers on Hoveton Great Broad (HGB) to the applicant Natural England (NE).

This has been a monumental task to secure and demonstrates what the professional services provided by the BASG, Angling Trust and Fish Legal can achieve in protecting the interests of angling and fisheries within the Broads.

We have now published all the papers that were previously not disclosed to ether us or the public at the consultation back in January, the Natural England anti-fish theme is shameful.

How long this will take for a hearing, is currently unknown. But the submission needed to be placed with the court within 3 months of issuing the permit.
