BASG is now using Clubmate for its membership and volunteer engagement.

The membership roles are laid out below.

Directors

There are currently 6 Directors on the Board who are responsible for ensuring the company operates effectively and is run in accordance the company rules and reporting information to company’s house. Directors are also members of the company and hold member voting rights.

Directors are expected to attend the AGM and at least 2 quarterly Director’s meetings and 6 member meetings per year. Each Director is expected to hold Chair on at least one working group.

Directors can be removed by the members in accordance with the procedures laid down in the articles of association.

CIC Members

There are currently 20 member positions that hold voting rights and reserve powers over the Directors to ensure that the company is run correctly against it aims (Objects) that are laid down in the articles of association.

Members are expected to attend the AGM, at least 6 member meetings and be an active part of at least one working group. Members are expected to contribute around 8-10 hours per month on average.

Membership application is subject to unanimous vote from other members, a waiting list maybe in force at times. Members can be removed in accordance with the procedures laid down in the articles of association.

General Member

Broads Angling General Members do not have voting rights but are the core members within our  working groups and attend member meetings and AGM. General members may speak at AGM’s with prior submission to the Board of Directors. General Members are not prohibited from applying for CIC membership subject to normal selection procedures.

Club Member

Broads Angling Clubs Members do not have voting rights but are permitted to have up to 2 representatives join working groups and attend member meetings and AGM. Club member representatives may speak at AGM’s with prior submission to the Board of Directors. Club Member representatives are not prohibited from applying for CIC membership subject to normal selection procedures.

Associate Member

Associate members are from Governing Bodies or Trade representation who are involved in members meetings and working groups. Associate members do not have voting rights and are appointed by Board of Directors. Associate members are not prohibited from applying for CIC membership subject to normal selection procedures.

Honorary Member

Broads Angling Honorary Membership do not have voting rights but are awarded this position for their previous services supporting Broads Angling.

Working Groups.

We use a matrix solution into which members can join one or more of our working groups.  This uses the Clubmate Member Group segmentation feature. The groups are defined below:

Broads

This is a grouping that enables focused communications with members on Broads Specific issues.

Wensum

This is a grouping that enables focused communications with members on Wensum Specific issues.

Communications

This is a grouping forming members focused on social media and general communications management across BASG.

Venue Surveys

This is a grouping forming members focused on undertaking surveys of venues and all things relating to accessing the Broads including Line Recycling Bins.

Get Fishing

This is a grouping forming members focused on the delivery of coaching and education.

Side Scan Surveys

This is a grouping forming members focused on the delivery of using technology to deliver fish surveys within the Broads.

Riverflies

This is a group with members undertaking Riverfly Invertebrate assessments primarily on the Wensum.
