BASG opened discussions on formalising angling at Whitlingham Country Park in the summer of 2018. This instigated a partnership subgroup of the charity trust to scope options to progress the issue forward.
However the decision to part company with the Broads Authority has suspended talks while the charitable trust looks at new ways in managing the park.
The management of the park was complex as the initial talks found in who had the rights and access across the multitude of leases and covenants and demonstrated why previous attempts to formalise angling had struggled to reach agreement.
As a stated aim on the Broads Angling Strategy, we revisit this in the future once things become stable and a vision for the Park is developed.
