Well what a year it’s been for us all and it seems to be getting worse!
Who knows what 2021 will bring, along with a vaccine. Hopefully it will bring some sense and let the science finally conclude the way forward with the Hoveton issues. What I find so disappointing is this has developed into a seemingly personal vendetta against one of our members, who was just doing his job protecting fisheries.
If this continues, I’m not sure what will be left to protect let alone catch if our so called statutory bodies continue their intent to destroy one of best natural (yes natural) fisheries and wildlife hubs in the UK. I certainly didn’t expect this as an outcome from my 8 year term on the Broads Authority.
Our scoping of finding ways to sustain the Broads Fisheries future up and above the 50p weekly national rod licence fee, once again meets such negativity within the local community without any alternative.
One wonders where we go in 2021 as it needs time to take stock and reflection.
