Environmental Challenges Across the Broads
You are invited to attend the: East of England Open Forum Invitation Broads Special 22nd July 2015 at the Oaklands Hotel, 89 Yarmouth Rd, Norwich NR7 0HH Tea and coffee served from 6.45pm..meeting begins 7.00pm The forum will be focussed on the current, and future challenges impacting angling across what is now the Broads National Park Agenda • Welcome from the Chair – Kelvin Allen • Environmental Challenges across the Broads • Short Term – Steve Lane & Marcus Sibley Environment Agency • Medium Term – Chris Bielby Natural England • Long Term – Simon Hooton Head of Strategy Broads Authority • Closing Remarks Steve Lane is the Broads specialist within the Fishery, Biodiversity and Geomorphology team at the Environment Agency and has taken a leading role in the recent Prymnesium outbreak. Marcus Sibley is the Norfolk Environment Manager and Fisheries Area lead at the Environment Agency. Chris Bielby is the Broads WFD Specialist at Natural England, helping to establish projects to restore designated waterbodies and wetlands. Chris is currently leading on the restoration plans for Great Hoveton Broad and providing advice on the developing plans for Hickling Broad. Simon Hooton is the Head of Strategy and Projects within the Broads Authority and has been leading on the consultation of both impact and adaption to sea level rise and climate change. This event is free to attend and is open to all and will be of interest to both coarse and game anglers and also fishery owners within this area of the region.
