Again after several emails to all 114 existing followers of BASG, only 27 responded about their ability to attend. It should be noted that 47 people registered as either members or volunteers failed to respond to two invitations to this meeting.
Kelvin explained the position with the lack of engagement from across the existing pool of followers, be it volunteers or subscribers to recent email requests. He asked the attendees for their views on whether time has come to change the way we communicate with people with the pending transfer to Clubmate. It was felt that many just want to follow the progress of BASG rather than be directly engaged and as such was email the best form of communications for this.
It was agreed that these people will not become active members on Clubmate and if they want to follow BASG, they should “Like” the existing BASG Facebook page.
Email communications will only be provided on actively engaged members, who form part of working groups. This means that there will be 66 active members of BASG made active on Clubmate, who will receive a welcome introduction email in the coming week and that 88 people will have their profile placed on hold.
Duncan discussed his recent meetings with Lisa Wilson and potential partnership between her John Wilson Enterprise and BASG. This covered a broad set of potential outcomes including coaching, health and wellbeing and the former were to fish in Norfolk guide previously published by JW. Duncan asked members how should BASG move this forward and the general view was that it was a positive step. But we should understand any commercial arrangements upfront, prior to any commitments.
The meeting then formed into 3 working groups to discuss:
