The Broads Authority is currently engaged in a wide reaching review of all it’s lakes with an aim to restore them back to their former glory and ability to support both recreation and wildlife.
A recent workshop attended by a wide number of stakeholders heard the potential plans initially focussed around Hickling Broad and the material and outcomes are available on the BA website here.
For anglers this has potential to make the broads support a more dynamic set of sub species, rather than the domanaint Roach and Bream. We need to engage in this debate and ensure that the recreation value of angling has a strong voice in any decisions this complex strategy could potentially have on sustaining angling across the broads.
There will be much more on this in the coming months, as BA consults is stakeholders.
